Camp Merry Heart is an Easter Seals camp for disabled people of all ages located just west of Hackettstown, NJ.  Founded in 1953 by a group of businessmen in Essex County (many of them Rotarians), they initially called themselves the Crippled Children’s Society of NJ.  After several years, the camp and its operation became too unwieldy for this small private group to manage, and the institution was sold to Easter Seals Society of NJ who owns and manages the camp to this day.  Rotarians from virtually all the clubs in our district help maintain the buildings, clean up and landscape the grounds and provide funding for campers in need every year.
